Eleanor, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office will host its first county-wide Get a Life budget simulations next Tuesday and Wednesday (Mar. 17 & 18) at the Navy Reserve Center in Putnam County.
During the two day event, West Virginia State Treasurer John Perdue will invite more than 700 eighth grade students to participate in his award-winning financial education activity, Get a Life.
Get a Life is an interactive activity that engages students with realistic family budget scenarios.
Students from all four middle schools in Putnam County will participate. This is the first time the activity has been organized on a county-wide level. More than 50 community volunteers, including several mayors and other dignitaries, are expected to participate during each session.
