State Treasurer John Perdue and staff members will be on hand to celebrate “Unclaimed Property Night at the Ballpark” 7 p.m., Friday, May 10, at Appalachian Power Park.

Treasurer Perdue will present two people unclaimed property checks, shown on the stadium’s big video boards. Also, staff will be on hand with laptops to search for fans’ unclaimed property. It is typical in such public searches to turn up constituents’ lost final assets.

Unclaimed property is any asset from which an individual has become unintentionally separated. Examples include a forgotten utility deposit, a left-behind paycheck or unbeknownst life insurance policy benefits.

“I love to interact with my fellow West Virginians, and what better way to do it than at the Capital City’s favorite summertime gathering place?” Treasurer Perdue said. “Appalachian Power is a jewel of Charleston. Folks have fun there and we hope to spread more happiness by finding unclaimed property for folks at the game Friday.”
